Sepultura Guitarist Replacing Scott Ian in Anthrax

Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian has announced that he will miss his band’s summer shows in Europe (July 2-16) because his wife is expecting their first child. That means Ian will miss all of the announced Big Four shows (with Metallica, Slayer and Megadeth), with the exception of April’s date in Indio, California.


Although Ian won’t be available in July, Anthrax will still tour with Sepultura’s Andreas Kisser taking his place. “We chose Andreas because we feel he can do the gig better than anyone,” Ian said in a statement. “He has the fire, the attitude, and the crushing right hand to do the gig.”


The guitarist also confirmed that Anthrax will release their tenth studio album in 2011. “From the tracks I have heard, it is going to tear your [expletive] heads off,” he said.
