Delhi's Young Metal Blood "Purple in Green"

Genre: Ambient/Experimental/Groove Metal
Location: New Delhi, India

*Members*
Aviral Prakash : Vocals
Mayurath Gupta - Guitars / FX
Ketan Bahirat - Guitars / FX
Reemo Bannerjee - Drums

Distinguished by bursts of unabated riffs along a crafty gordian lead guitar play that adds on to the vehement drum patterns fastened, buffeted basslines, and all suppled over by gruelling heavy-duty vocals which there of subserves a pedagogy of a melodic yet hardcore convulsion. Strong song writing process and hard hitting lyrical content that accentuates the ingenuity and earnestness to produce quality originals makes the music worth headbanging to. Purple in green, Groove Metal/Ambient/Metalcore project from New Delhi, India comprises of extremely talented young musicians barely out of their teens. But the sheer magnanimity and maturity of their prowess reduces it to mere numbers, making them arguably the youngest metal troop in the Indian Metal Scene.

Major influences: Hammock , Meshuggah , Vildhartha , Tesseract , Spiralmountain , Sectioned, Phobia,  Periphery , Explosions in the sky , Veil of maya , Skyharbor , Animals As Leaders , Tool , The Devil Wears Prada , This Will destroy you , basically anything and everything that inspires us  and Yes , that includes toilet seats and food aswell !

Secret behind the band's name: Purple In Green was initially the brainchild of me and my ex drummer Sureet . When we first recorded  "Apologies" , we could think of names for the band  .  In the Flight  from Guwahati back to Delhi , i noticed that he (Sureet) wore a Purple Shirt and I wore a green one so that's how we came to the conclusion of naming the band Purple In Green .

Favorite venue: Anything is good as long as there is good sound and a good crowd .

About your single "Apologies": Apologies was basically a couple of riffs i threw in together when i had just left my old band . When I met Sureet (My Ex Drummer) we added a couple of new parts and sent it over to Ketan where he helped out make ambient parts along with me . I recorded Bass on the song as we've never had a permanent bassist . Last but not least , Aviral recored his growls to the song . The lyrics deal with nothing specific but how when somebody is not wrong but is still blamed to be wrong he has to apologise for things he has never done . The Track was Mixed and Mastered by Siddharth Barooa and Amitabh Barooa at the Lucid Recess Studios in Guwahati . Their production is kickass !

Future plans: As you may know , we are more of a studio band . We intend to go live but very less , we wouldn't mind playing a few gigs here and there though . The next single we're releasing is a newer version of our instrumental "Perry". We intend to release it as soon as possible . It's got very less vocals . In general , we're now moving towards a more experimental aswell as heavy direction .

How it feels to be in a band: It feels great ! It's also an honour to work with musicians alike!

About metal scene in Delhi: Personally I haven't been in the scene for too long so talking much about it would be wrong since i don't know it inside out :) But yeah , there a hell lot of Talented bands in Delhi , and India aswell.

Ever played in N.E and about the metal scene here: Haven't played there but would love to! I've been to a  couple of shows in NE and I must say the scene in Northeast is really really talented . It's just that not all bands get that much exposure .

Is there anyone you'd like to acknowledge for offering financial or emotional support:

I'd like to thank everybody who helped me pick up music in general and everybody who've helped me mature musically and also our new drummer Reemo , who at the drop of a hat was ready to help the band in filling up drum duties at a pretty crucial time . I'd like to thank Band members , Ex band members , Everybody who helped me evolve the bands sound : Aaquib , Kaushik , Siddharth Da , Amitabh Da , Ketan , Sureet , Shwetank and many more !

Words for UM: You guys are doing a terrific job and keep promoting metal.
