Friends of North-East India: A Charity Fundraising Gig

Stop Discriminating People From the North-East India have come up with a fundraiser gig. All proceed made will benefit their upcoming seminar "Economic Development in North-East India: Challenges and Opportunities" to be held in New Delhi very soon.

PRESTORIKA: Won MTV Campus Rock Idols 2005, They continued their journey sharing stages with top international acts like The Rasmus, Megadeth, Freak Kitchen, Enslaved, Wes Borland of Slipknot/ LimpBizkit, Machinehead, Anvil to name a few.


THE VINYL RECORDS: The all girls indie band from Arunachal Pradesh who just formed in early 2011, is already making waves and vibes with music lovers and media alike across the country.


RAMPAZZE: The rock n' roll band from Assam (currently based in New Delhi). The band got the honoured to opened for the Finland band 'Poets of the Fall' at IIT Kanpur in 2007.

Ⓐ Everyday we have to face harassment and discrimination. Our women get raped and murdered by the brutal hands of mainland Indians who would continue their actions to mentally insult us by calling us "Chinky", "Nepali", "Barhadur", "Chinese" and various other slurs against our culture. And still, with the violence and verbal abuse the government does nothing at home to help and protect us, but shouts at Australia as a 'racial nation'. What a shame!


Ⓑ The fruits of modern infrastructure & economic development never reached the NE region. Leaders in New Delhi must show maturity and strong determination not just by blindly choosing the easiest military option.


Ⓒ Why are our indigenous inhabitants still forced to live with the Armed Forces special Powers Act (Assam and Manipur)? Did we asked for it? We wish we were given our fundamental rights to choose between AFSPA and economic development instead. Is this how the Indian government attempts to prove itself the biggest democratic country in the world?


Ⓓ The only news the mainland media promotes of the North East region is insurgency. It's a shame that for many decades India's government, politicians, and rest of the country still continue to ignore the NE states.


Ⓔ North East is a beautiful place with rich eco-geographical landscapes and resources. We are friendly people and blessed with many talents, music, education, fashion, places, sports, festivals, cultural or lifestyles.
