Stacy's Penitence's New Single Reviewed

Reviewed by Kallol Bordoloi

Stacy's Penitence, hardcore/metalcore band from Aizawl, Mizoram came up with their new single 'And All That's Left is Lost' after much delay. But, the time they took seems to have been spent well, as their track impresses and impresses good.

I grabbed the track this morning and liked the fact that they did some awesome and unique stuff but they do seem incredibly influenced by bands like Avenged Sevenfold which is evident in the start but gradually defuses into a more  hardcore/math core thing like Protest the Hero,Hatebreed which makes you want to hold on and listen to the rest of the song.

They do say they're influenced by bands like
A7x and Protest The Hero though I found blends of other stuff which gives them a kind of original sound and does not make them like so many other metalcore bands.

In the vocals front, though, there are many variations which they have tried, and at one point, they tried something very unique with a kind of vocal thrust which might not sound good to all, but stayed on with me. The guitars sound awesome, with the solo and little pieces giving an extra edge to it all and the drums compliment whatever the guitars are trying to do.

The song, lyrically too is quite impressive as is the title of the song. Overall, I would personally think they would score good with their new stuff and I hope to keep hearing from them in the near future as well. The best of wishes from Unholy Maunder.
