After listening to their awesome track we were blown up! And luckily we had a chance to catch up with them.
Major influences:
Major influences - Arch Enemy, Opeth, Insomnium, Bhayanak Maut, Abraxas, Demonic Ressurection.
Secret behind the band name:
One of the meanings of Afterlife is the "other side" so for us this band gives us an alternative form of existence against the realities of this world ,where we can vent our inner-self.
Band Members with instruments they play:
AfterLife is : Ankit Dhimole - Vocals/Guitars.
Sourabh Pateriya - Guitars/Vocals/Keys.
Omang Srivastava - Drums.
Vivek Pillai - Bass Guitar.
Favorite venue(s):
We have performed at various fests in India but BITS Pilani, IIITDM and IIT Kanpur have been really memorable.
About your single "Desolate":
This song is special and was composed long back by us but due to various unavoidable band issues and line up changes it could not be released. But now we have finally managed to move it forward. This song is about a person who has been left out and is striving for his existence.
Future plans:
We are in the process of recording a brand new ep which will be launched by the end of this year. And we are looking forward for a record label to help us launch a full length album.
How it feels to be in a band:
More than its being in a band, to us AfterLife is where we find release and its a pleasurable thing to compose our own music and make it reach the masses and even pleasurable, when they can relate to it.
About metal scene in Jabalpur:
The metal scene here is not very rich but we are amazed by the support we get by the audience here. And we are looking forward for a bright future as some good bands are coming up.
Ever played in Northeast India and about the metal scene here:
We got a chance to play in IIT Guwahati but somehow it couldn't happen. But we would surely appreciate an opportunity to perform in the North East.
NE's music scene is truly amazing and we are amazed by the talents of musicians of Northeastern part of India. We hope to get connected with the music scene of N.E one day and the bands of N.E deserve more exposure! Some N.E bands blow us up (laughs)!
Is there anyone you'd like to acknowledge for offering financial or emotional support:
Through this forum we would like to thank our very own Abhishek Sharma who helped us with the recording. This track would not have been possible without his guidance.Himanshu Kathal, Ashish Pateriya, Prateek Dhimole, Kshitij Pandey, Rishabh Pandey, our parents for their support through out this journey, and off course the metal followers of Jabalpur.
