American Tech. Death Band Viraemia Interviewed

1.Greetings from Unholy Maunder, how’s it going Scott?
Ans. Greetings from the Tucson desert, I am making through.

2. What’s going on with Viraemia? When will be the next release?
Ans: We are writing. We are not sure when we will be releasing anything or how we will release it. We are considering recording one song at a time, due to money and time constraints, and releasing each song online. We might put it all together on a CD with artwork at the end, if there is interest in that.

3. Tell us about the bands writing process.
Ans. Our writing process is ever changing, we have had to change it now that I am going to the University of Arizona in Tucson (over 100 miles from where we practice), Josh has work and school, Mike is going to Arizona State University, Kyle has a new kid and work, and Tony… So we are not moving at high pace, but we are still moving. In actual writing, we have a general scheme in mind, but we try not to be too driven by any single simple ideal. We really only write and play to have fun and not to form fit to any mold.

4. Lots of people on have commented on the bands music structure that it is not appropriate musically,basically i think as a brutal technical bandits a good sign,what do you have to say on those comments??
Ans:I know some people are disappointed when things don’t fit their expectations, this is ok by us. We know that there is some good reasons to form fit to certain kinds of standard structures, but we also know that the only reason people like those structures is that it is the way they have always heard music; this conditions people to associate certain feelings with certain song structures. That does not make those structures right, wrong, or “appropriate”. We do have plenty of structure in our songs, it is just not the structure that fits some people’stastes, that is ok. Yeah, we want to enjoy music with fans, but if we don’t get to, we will still enjoy it.

5. Your riff's over the song are very fast driven,how do you guys plan to maintain the whole brutality section along with it?
Ans:“Brutality” can come in many forms, we like to change it up a bit, yet we like fast paced brutality that makes parts that would be normally considered fast paced seem like a slower break. Any time that you come up with simple rules for writing, you need to change something.

6.Tell us about your andViraemia's influences as a musician ??
Ans:My influences mainly come from Victor Wooten, Billy Sheehan, Franz Liszt, Nicolo Paganini, and Bach. We all have widely varied influences and reasons for playing the way we do, but we have influenced each other more than any others have influenced us.

7.Lyrically ,whats been viraemia's peak point of concentration,any particular topic??
Ans:Lyrically we focus entirely on diseases

8.Any personal favourite musician with whom you would like to share the same stage??
Ans:No single person sticks out toofar above the rest, maybe Jean Baudin

9.you guys have been compared lots of time with the Brain drill??how does it feels about that?
Ans:I am ok with that. I like their music. I think we are pretty different, but we are clearly similar in many ways

10.Any last words for the brutal readers and fans out there??
Ans:Don’t take things too serious and enjoy what you can.
