This is Life Reviewed

Samiran Sonowal, a 14 year old kid living in Surat and hailing from the town of Dibrugarh, Assam released his Debut EP-This Is Life comprising 5 of his select songs which he recorded over a period of time after he shifted to Surat from Jorhat.
With guest appearances from Bantei Sangma( Ceborgium 106-Surat), on two tracks(Goodbye and More than a friend) and Aayushi Karnik(Surat), on one track( You'll be missed),'This is Life' is a decent try for a first project and that too by someone of his age!

True to life and all the feelings and experiences of kids and people for that matter, each song speaks about some story which is very relevant today!

The tracks are-
1.I love you
2. More than a friend feat. Bantei
3.Goodbye feat. Bantei
4. You'll be missed
5. You'll be missed (Acoustic) feat. Aayushi

I love you,as the title suggests is for his girl. Sweet and raw,the songs provides the thoughts of a kid in stupid love and finding meaning in the little things done and said. Read on,I won't be telling you the girl's name though.

More than a friend and Goodbye which were previously released as singles featuring Bantei Sangma on vocals are two of the better compositions in the track list. Considerably good vocals  by someone who
is otherwise a guitarist. Goodbye, by far ,is the best song in this EP and is also about some girl. Smell something fishy? He is 14,people, and is a rocker on stage.
More than a friend gradually transcends to be something which is very expressive but could have been better with more variations on the vocal front.

You'll be missed(both versions) has the raw feeling, the kind of feeling,i suppose was related in the making of the song which Samiran says is dedicated to a friend he lost to an accident. With vocal and guitar backing by Aayushi,You'll be missed would certainly be liked by both girls and boys alike.

Music enthuasists should give 'This is Life' a try and see what young people like Samiran can do.
He obviously has a long way to go,but,a decent and solemn effort,i must say.
With all the luck and love,i hope he does Music proud.
